Haldwani: The diploma veterinary pharmacist union (DVPU), Uttrakhand has raised their four-point long pending demands, including creation of 100 new posts, filling of vacant posts, to name a few. The members of the DVPU have maintained that even after restructuring of the department, the veterinary diploma pharmacists have been deprived of their ‘due promotions’.
More so, the Government has done nothing to create about 100 new posts even after submitting a detailed proposal on the pattern of the UP veterinary department in this regard. Our main demand is that out of the 100 new posts, about 78 chief veterinary pharmacist posts should be created at the tehsil level, said PS Negi, general secretary of the DVPU. He further said that apart from that, five posts should be created, one each for veterinary department (GB Pant agriculture and technology, Pantnagar), Kalshi dairy farm (Uttrakhand livestock development board), Bhrari Sain farm, Makku sheep farm (Sheep and wool board) and Pashulok dairy farm. “We also demand 14 new posts of pharmacy officer that is, one each for the 13 districts and one for the directorate level,” Negi further said. “We have demanded creation of three new posts of deputy director rank: one each for Kumaon and Garhwal divisions and the directorate level.
At the same time, the union member stressed that along with creation of about 100 new posts at different levels, they also urged the Government to fill the existing 103 posts which have been lying vacant for long. The filling of these seats would not only help expedite works on different programmes and polices launched for overall development of the animal husbandry sector in the State, but also provide an opportunity to the needy and skilled veterinary diploma pharmacists , the union members maintained.
